September and Everything After

a two season sampler of song

Welcome.

This started out as an all September, almost end of summer playlist. But then I thought about the line in Neil Young’s “Little Wing” when he sings “winter is the best time of the year,” and I got all kinds of nostalgic for the two seasons that are soon to come.

Someone once asked me if I would ever live anywhere but the East Coast (or Philly for that matter). The answer to both is, “of course not.” To the former question, it’s basic: I love the four seasons. I’ve always appreciated the uniqueness of them, the challenges they each present on their own, and the distinctive memories I associate with each one.

We often claim our lives are marked by song, yet we’re really marked by our memories.

Happy almost end of Summer. Here’s to September and everything after. Autumn’s closing in.
