the 6 month, so far, favorite/best records of 2025 report
Saba & No ID, Davido, The Convenience, Sharon Van Etten & the Attachment Theory, Jason Isbell, Hannah Cohen, and more.
What’s the first six months of the 2-5 brought us? Well, here’s my favorite records of the year, so far. Roll call: The Boss’s crooner album, the watercolorized psych-rock of Panda Bear, Turnstile’s beautiful sell-out, Philly’s Americana-ized indie rockers Florry, the sublime Ichiko Aoba, the Haim sisters, the Laurel Canyon vibe of Hannah Cohen, the exquisite electronic pop of Oklou, and some jazz. Reduce the hum. Listen to the music.
