XPN Sleepy Hollow radio show playlist 6.14.25
quiet sounds: hayden pedigo, coltrane & hartman, nick drake, jobim, bread, mojave 3 + more
Typically, every Saturday from 10a-2p I play records on the radio at WXPN in Philly. This week, I programmed one of XPN’s long standing legacy shows, “Sleepy Hollow,” that precedes my regular slot.
The show - on Saturdays & Sundays from 6am - 10am Philly time, has been on the air 50 years and it’s one of those musical “greater than the sum of its parts” shows. The concept is simple, but the execution is not. The show’s long time "mantra” - “the quiet sounds of Sleepy Hollow” - represents a mix of new and older indie music, jazz & instrumental, acoustic-y, singer-songwriters; a block of time on the radio with songs that allow you to enter the day with ease. Not a lot of rock and roll, just songs that meet the mood of a new day rising. (If there’s one Metallica song tho that could work, we’ll find it.)
Here’s the playlist from this week’s Sleepy Hollow.

Saw Silvana in a quiet acoustic theatrical production fifty seats in the village a few years ago. Magical songs. I need to get to know her more!
Good stuff!
