Apart from supplying copy at a time of minimal new releases to cover, 'Best of' lists in music seem to fall into one of two categories: the author attempts to be as obscure as possible --a/k/a 'hip'--or strive to please and placate as many of their PR contacts as possible...I find I have less use for these (in any field) with every passing year...
